A Book Review of Your Story Matters by Leslie Leyland Fields.

I had never read anything from this author before but it was recommended by someone I trust so I bought it and began reading. I felt like God placed this book in my hand at just the right time. This is a book for anyone who writes in any capacity. Not just for someone writing a memoir.

Finding out why story matters, whether it is your own or someone else’s. This book covers the the importance of remembering and takes you through the process of writing it. Beautifully written, it takes you through the depths of a life fully observed. There is a spiritual poverty when we act as if story doesn’t matter.

There is so much to learn in this book. Chapters on mapping, scene-making, gathering, reflecting and ordering, as well as some other chapters I’ll let surprise you. Such an enjoyable read. Leslie seems so interesting when she shares glimpses of her life.

A great read and so worth purchasing because you will want to read it again.
